The VPRO radio show Vrije Geluiden will broadcast live on Radio 6 from the festival tent at Garnwerd. During the daytime Vrije Geluiden will record five SJCT concerts, which will air in September on Radio 6.

• Noorderbreedte magazine has been collaborating with the SummerJazzCycleTour for a special thematic edition on cycling. You will receive a free copy of this ‘cycling edition’ with every two go-as-you-please tickets.
• In order to avoid disappointments at busy moments we’ve introduced a ‘changeover rule in crowded venues’: After the first concert everyone will be asked to leave the venue in order to make room for waiting jazz lovers.
• At various places en route local products are on sale at so-called ‘green points’. More information may be obtained at the starting points.
• It is possible to pay by bank card at all five starting points. In fact, we’d prefer this method of payment!

The restoration of the painting ‘Vrede is eten met muziek’ (‘Peace is eating with music’) became a source of inspiration for the programme of 2014 SummerJazzCycleTour 2014. The artist, Lucebert, always combined his poetry and painting with jazz. The SJCT does the same, in honour of this musical painting. We are using a fragment of the work in our logo and we are presenting two concerts inspired by the artist.
